Recently, the People’s Government of Shanxi Province announced the “Decision on the Shanxi Provincial Science and Technology Awards in 2022”. A total of 13 scientific research achievements of SXAU won awards, including 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 6 third prizes.

According to the statistics of the first completed persons’ work units, 13 award-winning projects are distributed in 9 institutions: 2 by Maize Research Institute, 1 by College of Plant Protection, 1 by College of Animal Science, 2 by College of Agriculture, 1 by Shanxi Institute for Functional Food, 3 by College of Horticulture, 1 by Millet Research Institute, 1 by Center for Agricultural Genetic Resources Research and 1 by Pomology Research Institute. Among them, “Breeding and Application of National Approved New Maize Variety Rip 909” presided by Professor Wu Zhong from Maize Research Institute and “Innovation and Application of Key Technologies to Reduce Application and Increase Efficiency of Orchard Pesticide” presided by Professor Fan Renjun from College of Plant Protection won the first prizes of Science and Technology Progress Awards.

According to the Catalogue of 2022 Shanxi Science and Technology Award Projects (Enterprises), a total of 195 projects and 10 enterprises were awarded the 2022 Shanxi Science and Technology Awards, among which, 34 Natural Science Awards (4 first prizes, 21 second prizes, 9 third prizes), 12 Technological Invention Awards (3 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 5 third prizes), 144 Science and Technology Progress Awards (9 first prizes, 57 second prizes, 78 third prizes), 5 Science and Technology Cooperation Awards (2 first prizes, 3 second prizes) and 10 Enterprise Technological Innovation Awards.
