National Provincial joint engineering laboratory of dryland water-saving techniques in eastern loess plateau was supported by Shanxi institute of organic dryland farming, Shanxi Agricultural University (former Institute of dryland farming, Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences), constructing with Northwest A & F University together. It mainly focus on the problems of lack of agricultural water resources and lower water use efficiency in eastern loess plateau, and aims at increasing storage capacity of farmland and precipitation utilization efficiency. It conducts on the researches of dryland water-saving and organic rainfed agriculture technology innovation, agricultural waste resource utilization, drought-resistant germplasm resources establishment and utilization, which will provide technical support for the development of dryland water-saving farming, and promote the sustainable development of modern agriculture of our country.
